Well, I thougth the problem about font in textareas and textfields was solved. But it looks like after a year the problem is still there. So it seems like a code line like this:

1.       controlP5.setControlFont(new ControlFont(createFont("Arial",8), 8));

Gives me the effect I was talking about earlier. 'Til now the only solution (if you want your font size to be greater) is to use the grixel font like this:

1.       myTextarea.valueLabel().setFont(ControlP5.grixel);

There's another solution suggested by "sojamo" : 

" if you want to go for a little adventure, you could create your own pixelfont. the pixelfonts used by controlP5 use a bitmap that implements the following characters (in the exact same sequence, first character being a SPACE):

!"#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`

it should look like this



 (white background, black characters, red pixel used to separate characters). if you follow modify the example to your needs, creating your own pixelfont for controlP5 should go smoothly.
and this is how you would load the pixelfont into controlP5 (assuming 'yourFont.gif' is located in the data folder of your sketch)"
