Drawing w/Ribbons - Erik Natzke

in General Discussion  •  Other  •  11 months ago
I have had this long-standing obsession to do with Processing what Erik Natzke does with Flash.

I have seen him work live at a Flash Forward conference in 2009, which was very fortunate for me. It helped me find my artistic voice.

What I am wondering, is where would I even BEGIN to start something like this: http://www.craigtozzi.com/sportsdesk/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/natzke1.jpg

He used code to create "ribbon" style brushes that he then uses to "paint" compositions. It's pretty spectacular.

If someone could point me in the right direction on this, I would be eternally grateful. If I can figure out how to make ONE ribbon, perhaps I can then figure out how to make multiples to then use the mouse to control.

Thanks for any and all help!

Regards,
- John

While not exactly the same, this has a similar feel to it...

Wow, you guys are awesome. Thank you SO much for this help and pointing me in the right direction. Hopefully, with a bit of practice on what you all have supplied me with, I will be able to produce some work and share it soon.

This is such a great community. I know that when I ask a question, there is always someone there to help!

I'll keep you all updated. :)
