That is one of the many ways I have been trying to approach this. Essentially what I have is 200+ nodes drawn into a scene that is being drawn into a back buffer using P3D rendering. I need to be able to click on those nodes and have the camera interpolate to the center of the object you clicked on. I tried the pixel under mouse approach but the console told me I needed to use OpenGL. :( Is there also anyway to bind user written methods to the bindings that can be set in a custom camera profile?

if using the OPENGL renderer is not option to you (in which case you may refer to the PointUnderPixel example) then please have a look at this thread which uses a different approach to a somehow similar problem.
