I am interested rather in which variable is highest.

If they are six independant variables then there is no easy solution (in fact I can't think of a solution), but if you have an array of six variables the solution is straightforward see the following code

1. int[] counts = new int[] { 202, 34, 567, 10, 99, 239, 56};
2. int bigValue, bigIndex;
3. 
   
4. void setup(){
5.   bigValue = counts[0];
6.   bigIndex = 0;
7.   for(int i = 1; i < counts.length; i++){
8.     if(counts[i] > bigValue){
9.       bigValue = counts[i];
10.       bigIndex = i;
11.     }
12.   }
13.   print("The biggest count was found at index " + bigIndex);
14.   println(" and had the value " + counts[bigIndex]);
15. }

The ouput from this program was:-

The biggest count was found at index 2 and had the value 567

I have assumed you are familiar with arrays, if not it is a very useful thing to learn.

That's perfect, I should easily be able to adjust my code to use an array instead.
