Dates and Map

Hey all,

I have a simple table of dates and counts.

I want to develop a time series graph but was hoping to use map().

Can someone point me in the right direction to do this?

It seems trivial with years etc, but I am not sure how to approach it with dates.

Here is a solution:

Use row instead of date. If the dataset is incomplete, this can result in errors though.

for (int row = 1; row < rowCount; row++) {

float value = data.getFloat(row, 0);

float x = map(row, 0, rowCount - 1, plotX1, plotX2);

float y = map(value, 2000, 0, plotY1, plotY2);

ellipse(x, y, 10, 10);

}

Works only if the dates are at regular intervals...
You can convert the date to java.util.Date, then use date.getTime() to get the time in milliseconds. You can then compute the difference from a start date, divide by a factor and use that to map to an axis.
