Sorry for being such a newbie... :)

Can I just simply set a stroke style on a line to create a dashed one?

I mean if it's there a simple, plain, core-based manner to achieve this. I haven't found any.

right, you have to use the search on the processing.org website, not the one in this board.
i asked casey to add a forum search in the sidebar as it is really useful and probably answers most of the questions.

Just for completeness and to expand on my answer in this other thread... you can use the same functionality but then only draw every 2nd segment:

Line3D l=new Line3D(new Vec3D(-100,-200,-300),new Vec3D(100,200,300));
List<Vec3D> points=l.splitIntoSegments(null,10,true);
for(int i=points.size()-1; i>0; i-=2) {
Vec3D p=points.get(i-1);
Vec3D q=points.get(i);
line(p.x,p.y,p.z,q.x,q.y,q.z);
}

The same also works in 2D, just replace Line3D with Line2D and Vec3D with Vec2D...
