Is it Text you wrote with text()?

As Chrisir suggested, since you are drawing the text yourself, you know the location and you can check the width and height to do a mouseoverRect check. You can get the height with textascent and descent. I guess it would be easier to just have a textheight() method, since this is a bit unclear to many people. Also the textAlign matters. At first try drawing the correct rect behind/over the text to doublecheck you have the right area.

An alternative solution with greater pixel-accuracy but a little more work, is using a PGraphics buffer to draw the text to. Then you can check the buffer to see if you are over the text. See this thread.

Getting the height of the font in use can be difficult if you did not specify the height yourself. The following code displays some text in grren and changes it to red if the mouse is over the text.
