What's the best way to create a rounded rectangle with the possibility of using only the stroke?

Probably with beginShape / endShape.

Note: I pasted rounded rectangle in the search box of the Processing site, and found lot of hits...

The basic rect() routine supports rounded rects, via two (poorly documented) ways of calling it.

rect( x, y, w, h, TL, TR, BL, BR);

rect( x, y, w, h, RW, RV);

The first one accepts 4 additional args which specify the radius of the arc that forms each corner (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right).

The second one accepts 2 additional arguments, which specify horizontal and vertical radii, respectively.

In this example, I'm drawing a rounded rect using radii of 8 for the corners.

They are not poorly documented, they are not at all (unless automatic inclusion in JavaDoc is seen as documentation...

). I forgot those, thanks for reminding.
For the anecdote, it is implemented with beginShape / endShape with vertex and quadraticVertex calls inside.
