Creating a 3d shape from a picture

Hello , i have this picture:

I need to create a processing code that can analize my picture and can create a 3d shape with the same shape of the image.

How can i get the coordinates of the shape in the picture so i can map into a 3d shape with curveVertex and beginShape and endShape?

Is there any specific way of doing this? which would be the best way for creating a 3d shape from that picture?

how exactly should that shape be 3d ? because curevertex is actually a 2d thing....
there are different ways depending on the outcome you are aiming for

Somehow, it is equivalent to vectorize the shape, which is difficult, even more for something irregular like that... I suppose there are Java libraries to do such bitmap to vector conversion, but I don't recall having seen one.
