ControlP5 textField InputFilter

Hi, I'm trying to apply an integer InputFilter to a textField in my GUI, but my java is pretty rusty and I don't know how to implement the InputFilter class. could somebody show me how this is done? thanks.

If you just want to allow only integer inputs then the following will work. The docs imply that you should be using the enum defined in the InputFilter class but that didn't work when I tried it.

import controlP5.*;
ControlP5 cp5;
void setup() {
size(400, 200);
cp5 = new ControlP5(this);
cp5.addTextfield("input")
.setPosition(20, 20)
.setSize(200, 40)
.setInputFilter(ControlP5.INTEGER);
}
void draw() {
background(0);
}

thanks for the quick reply. that works, but for some reason doesn't work the way i've set it up.

here is how i have it:

import controlP5.*;
ControlP5 cp5;
Textfield targetField;
void setup() {
size(400, 200);
cp5 = new ControlP5(this);
targetField = cp5.addTextfield("input heading")
.setPosition(20,20)
.setSize(100,30)
.setColor(color(255,200,0))
.setInputFilter(ControlP5.INTEGER)
;
}
void draw() {
background(0);
}

which gives the error "cannot convert from void to Textfield" unless i comment out the .setInputFilter() line.

i'll just switch to the format in your example, but is there any logical explanation for why my way doesn't work? or why one is preferred over the other? i assumed i could access the controller objects faster by name than by string lookups, so i went with that.
