[controlp5] problem with group dimensions

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but i've made some test and googled a bit without getting any clue.
In short: when i add buttons (or whatever) to a group, the group dimension (the height, especially) are not updated accordingly. So some button is draw outside of group background. With setWidth() i've found that it' possible to change the width of the group, but i've not been able to change the height. The .setHeight() don't work as expected (seems to change only the label bar height).
If someone have some clue it will be nice...

Is this using the latest controlP5?

If you think this is a bug, please file an issue here so it can be solved in the next release.

Either way a small example showing this behavior is always helpful.

Thanks for replying. Yes, i'm using the latest controlP5 (0.7.2). Don't know if it's a bug, because i'm a little newbe with controlP5 and processing in general.
Here's a small example reproducing the problem:

As you can see the buttons are placed outside the group window. Try uncommenting in/out the setHeight() properties to see the other problem.

First, I am not the author of this great library. Please praise Andreas Schlegel for this.

However, I am a fellow user that can assist you in your troubles. Your problem is easily solved (and thus not a bug). The height and width are not automatically set according to whatever you add. It can be set manually precisely as you like. See the example below.

You can set the relevant width with .setWidth()
You can set the relevant height with .setBackgroundHeight()

Ooops...

so just many thanks for your help! Now i know how to deal with group size. BTW, what's the meaning of the setHeight() method, for a group?

And antoher question: if i add the setMovable(true) to a group, i can/should move it with the mouse, or i have to handle all the necessary stuff (listen for mouse press, the move the window with something like setPosition(mouseX,mouseY)?

The method setBarHeight is inherited from class controlP5.ControlGroup.

The method setHeight is inherited from class controlP5.ControllerGroup.

In this case they both do the same, which is set the height of the top bar used to open/close and move a controlGroup.

To move controllers you can press the ALT key. Then you are able to drag controllers with the mouse.

ok. now i can set group dimensions as desired. Many thank for your help.

To move the controllers it's a little bit tricky for me, because under linux ALT+mouse drag is a standard shortcut to move windows (so i can get the window move, but not the controller alone). You know if it's possible to change the controller move shortcut under controlP5?

This is not possible. The ALT-based shortcut is hardcoded in, see:

http://code.google.com/p/controlp5/source/browse/trunk/src/controlP5/ControlWindowKeyHandler.java

Unfortunately for you, isAltDown is also the only non-public boolean in the class.
