DropdownList is of type ControlGroup and therefore not able to use plugTo which is currently limited to Controllers of type Controller only. you can use the default controlEvent() method though:

The strange thing is that the controlEvent(ControlEvent) method is never called when selecting a item from the DropdownList, that's why I thought it has something to do that I'm using Processing within a Swing GUI.

the text-id of your dropdownlist is  mSelectedRev and the text of the label is  Compare revision. The name of a controller/controlGroup always refers to the text-id not the label, so if you replace 

Thanks, but nontheless it seams the controlEvent(ControlEvent) method is never called when selecting an item. I've checked with sysout before (System.out.println("Event: " + event)), but nothing. Might have to go through with the Eclipse debugger.

But it might be that it's because I don't extend PApplet in this class, it's a parameter in the constructor (SunburstGUI(final PApplet paramApplet,...))

I have investigated the issue via the Eclipse debugger and it triggers "void mousePressed(final MouseEvent paramEvent)" instead of "void controlEvent(final ControlEvent paramEvent)" which seems to be ok, but maybe it should invoke both methods? I'm not sure.

did you try the dropdownlist example? does it work? if yes, i am not sure if i can help here. does replacing your loop with the following work? if yes, i suspect something is odd inside your try/catch?
