Hi everyone! I'm looking for a way to control the parallel port on a PC (Windows or linux) using Processing but don't know if it is possible nor where to start. What i want to do is just light up some leds connected to the parallel port.

Can you please tell me how to do that? Or just tell me where to look up for more information as I'm still learning how to program.

To start with, this is Operating System Dependent.

In Windows XP you need to use a device driver to get access to the "protected" ports. 

LINUX would be completely different.

Which OS are you using?? This would be nice to figure out, as the parallel port can be a nice 8bit input and output port if the crazy bits are aligned in software.
