Hello!

Im pretty new to processing so bare with me..

I want to create a tail on a simple .png file that symbols a comet...

I saw somebody do something similar by creating a "bleed" from the picture that faded away ..

Do somebody know how to fix that?

A common technique to put trails on things is to remove the call to

background(0)

in your draw() function. Add a call to background(0) to the end of your setup() function, so that you paint the black background just once.

Once you've done that, you can do various things that will create trail effects.

One very nice looking, but very slow method is to call

filter(BLUR);

In your first line of draw.

Another faster performing, but not as nice looking technique is to paint the screen with a mostly transparent color, like this:

fill(0,20); // 20 is an alpha value. experiment with different values

rect(0,0,width,height); // paint the screen

fill(255); // restore the original fill color
