Hi there,

I am a university student and my current brief is to make a manifesto based around the idea of collaboration. What i'm trying to find out at the moment is, how collabrative communitys such as yourselves operate and some first hand views on what collaboration means to people who are actively involved in these communitys is.

Any views you could share with me would be much appreciated,

Are you talking about Processing itself or projects that use Processing? Processing itself is created by 13 members and each project is usually done by a solo user. I'm not sure either case is what I would call community collaboration. This is a forum that helps users advance their processing projects, so in that sense, we could be considered community help, but I'm not sure we're collaborating on anything except knowledge sharing. That differs from something like Wikipedia, where a large community is actively collaborating with others to build something. Or one of my favorite sites, Geni.com which is a collaborative community to build a world genealogy tree.
