Can you play youtube videos in processing by calling a URL

Hi. Im quite new to processing. Just figuring bits and pieces out as I go along. Can anyone tell me if it is possible within processing to play online videos by calling a URL... Basically I am using the nyArtoolkit, and have managed to attach .mov files from my computer to AR markers. I would like to be able to do this with youtube videos, without having to download them any help here would be greatly appreciated....

i dont know of a method off the top of my head but look into the youtube data api. You might be able to create a service setup that will allow you to return the actual video file url in the youtube url and then be able to load it in with the Processing video library.

I dont have much experience with the data api though just the player apis.

I really doubt that it's possible. youtube videos are flash based and not usually downloadable. The only way I could imagine doing it would be to find a flash ripper with a java api to it and hack something together that way. If you are new to processing, it might be a bit of a tall order. I don't want to be discouraging though and if you find a way to do it, post back and I'll be super happy to be proved wrong! good luck
