Can I compile processing from Notepad++

I hate the white background of the default processing environment, so I code in notepad++. However, I have to copy and paste each time I want to compile. I tried setting the run/F5 command to processing.exe and that does nothing. Any suggestions?

suggestion: change the background color of the processing IDE:

Look at <processing install dir>/lib/theme/theme.txt

You can edit the PDE files and use the Open button on the toolbar (as it doesn't open a new window each time) to reload the sketch. I do that for sketches longer than a few lines.
You can also try the Use external editor option in the Preferences dialog and see if it seems usable for you.
