Camera for tracking, what to get

Hi,
I've been searching the forums and google for this, but Im still a bot unsure on what to get. Im helping out on my school doing the exhibition for the graduates. Im going to track people within a circle on 14 diameters and there is about 7 meters to the ceiling (see attached sketch).
Unfortunately we cannot run any tests in that room before a few days before the show, so i want to prepare as good as possible.
I want to use OpenCV to track the movement of people within the circle and was wondering what camera would be the best? We have a pretty limited budget for buying hardware - but its still better than no budget ;)
Would a Kinect og Playstation EYE do the job? Or is the some more specific model that would be better for the task?
Any inputs are very appreciated.
Thanks :)

Im on OSX and have done a bit of openCV before, but never from such a distance and with such a big area.
Any inputs are very appreciated.
Thanks :)
