Beginner Question: mousePressed()

Hello!

I was attempting to make a code where if the user clicks their mouse over one of the ellipses I have created, more ellipses would pop out at a different location and remain there permanently. I'm slightly confused as to how to get those code working. I know its probably very simple! Any help would be appreciated.

My apologies!

I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I just thought it was a useless question, and I trashed the idea anyways, so I just deleted the post. I'm sorry if I offended you! It was not my intention. I didn't really look to see the responses. I guess it was silly of me! I replaced it with this question, because this is more what I'm looking for.

Sorry about that. I should leave my topics open even if they become irrelevant to my work, I suppose someone else could use them.

I appreciate you inquiring about this! I don't normally post to forums, so I was a little unsure of what I should do. I am extremely sorry if I have offended you, it was not my intention at all.

All right, you talk the talk, make sure you walk the walk as well.

With regard to your question, if you want to create new ellipses only when the mouse is clicked over another, then you have to compare the location of the mouse with the coordinates of the existing ellipses and their radius. A basic class that holds this information would be recommended, although arrays and/or arraylists are possible as well.

My answer in this thread was silly (it is to make people think about the way they ask questions...), but amnon.owed provided code and thus took time to answer. So indeed, please, avoid to delete such thread which can be useful to other people taking time to search the forum. (And yourself.)
I restored it.
