It´s really easy, I ´d suggest you to read classic Ben Fry´s "Visualizing Data", it comes with some examples on this topic. In openprocessing you can find a lot of examples, just search "data visualization .csv" on it... ;-)

What I have understood is you need to load the external data onto an applet and you don´t know how. Is that? If that´s the case I pointed out you might look the examples (i.e.) on openprocessing that precisely do that: they are applets and they do load external data.
I.e. in < http://www.openprocessing.org/visuals/?visualID=34748> there´s a main class called PolarGraph, whose first argument is the external file you want to load, it passes it out to a second class called Tabla (a refix of a Fry´s class, found in "Visualizing Data"), this class takes the name of the file and uses loadStrings() method to load data inside the applet.
