Arduino + Processing

Hi All,

I have been playing around with the arduino for about a year now and just ran into processing and was wondering if i could get some guidance.

If i have a few variables within my arduino that i want to send to my computer and display them as graphic letters, like an LCD character display would, how would i do this? I get the main idea but i am having trouble displaying multiple pieces of data from my arduino at once.

Also, is it possible to use the arduino with the computer and processing while not having the serial monitor running in the background?

Hi...

Can you explain exactly what you are having issue with?

Are you successfully sending multiple values from your Arduino to Processing, but not sure how to display them, or are you having trouble sending the data in the first place?

As for your second question, I'm not sure as I dont have an Arduino in front of me, but you may not be able to open the Serial Monitor at all, assuming you used the Serial library instead of the Arduino library (which one are you using btw?), as in my experience, from what I can remember, accessing it thru Processing makes it unavailable to monitor elsewhere...

I am to the point where I have all of my arduino code written and m processing code to display the items written but I am stuck as far as getting the values from the arduino to the processing program. I am missing the code for the arduino as far as sending the values and the processing code as far as receiving them.
