The last time that I checked, the export function wasn't working reliably enough to use. However, the application that ends up on your device in debug mode will work perfectly fine on someone else's device. If you are able to locate it in the file system, you can send it to them and they will be able to install it if they enable installation from unknown sources.

Where are the Processing apps located in the android? I can't seem to easily locate them. I can see why you said, 'if you can find them.' =P

Okay, so that solution might not work. But...

You can export the app as an Android project and work with it from there from outside Processing. You can build it quite simply by opening the command line, navigating to the folder, and running " ant release". This should spit out an APK file that can be installed on a device.

However, if you happen to have Eclipse installed, along with the Eclipse ADT (Android Developer Toolkit), you can load the project into Eclipse and build it using Eclipse's tool, which will also sign the app for you. The resulting APK file can be installed on a device or uploaded to Google Play (providing that you have a developer account).

The extra steps aren't necessary, but it is so simple to do that once you have the environment setup it is most certainly worth it. I prefer using Eclipse, but using ant to build it can work just as well for your purposes.

I do have the environment setup, and ran thru the simple first tutorial that is on the android website, but im not sure how to get eclipse to accept processing code. Sounds like I Will be doing research for this. ty.

so i did the export command through processing, but wasn't sure what file to click on to import with eclipse (wasnt sure which one i actually generated) so i just clicked on the folder that the app was in and imported all the folders related to that particular app. When I changed the debuggable to "false" it still has a error message: "[2013-07-23 22:00:25 - Asteroids_COLOR_ASTEROIDS] AndroidManifest.xml does not declare a Java package: Build aborted. "

What does it mean it does not declare a java package?

When importing to eclipse you select the "android" folder in your sketch folder (which is the folder processing created to store your export), which might fix the issue as you're currently probably editing the wrong androidmanifest
