I don´t know if this will work but you could try to get the native object (android.widget.Button) using the the inherited method getView() (every APWidget has one). Then you should be able use setGravity (I think) found here to align the text.

You may get problems with your calls not being in Androids GUI thread, If so, there are ways to get around that.

Next time I do work on the APWidgets library I´ll implement the setGravity-method, so it is easier to do this.
