This would be very similar to trying to program Android Processing with an external IDE on the desktop, which the wiki says:

• The tutorial on how to use Eclipse with Processing has nothing to do with developing for Android. You should only use Eclipse for Android development if you've already spent time learning how to develop Android applications using Eclipse (separately from Processing), and want to make use of the Processing core library. Android development in Eclipse is significantly more difficult than desktop Processing/Java development with Eclipse. Take time to learn it if you're going this route: get a book, read some Android development tutorials, etc.

• See the section above regarding how the size() command is handled.

• Instead of a 'data' folder, use the 'assets' folder. If you're converting a Processing project, rename your data folder to assets. Or if you have files you'd like to get at with loadStrings(), put them in the assets folder.

• The best way to make an Android application is to use Subclipse to check out the source for processing/android/core as its own project in Eclipse. Call that project android-core. Then create a new Android project using the Eclipse ADT, and include android-core as a 'required project'.

• For nearly everything else, you're on your own. The point of the PDE is to not have to use something like Eclipse. When you shoot yourself in the foot, don't complain to us when it hurts. Don't take your guns to town, son. Leave your guns at home, Bill.

This is basically the same thing, with the added complication of getting all of the Processing resources over to the Android device.

I would start (as the wiki says) by trying to write standard Android applications on the Android device first.

this topic is quite old and i'm new here, so maybe the following solution is obvious now.:

i just checked using processing 2.0 b6, aide 1.0.4, android 4.1.1 on galaxy s3 and i'm able to edit and compile processing code directly on my phone. it works very nice, including sketches linked against libs, like ketai.

the process is very simple:

1. export any processing sketch from computer in android mode (menu file -> export as android project)
2. rename resulting "android" folder to name of your sketch (for example "my_sketch")
3. copy it to your android device
4. open aide, navigate to folder where you placed your copied sketch
5. edit your source in aide if you need, you will find it in my_sketch/src/processing/test/my_sketch/my_sketch.java
6. hit "run" from aide menu, it will build and install, and hopefully you will see your sketch working
7. optional: use dropbox to sync your sketches from computer directly to aide, since aide have very nice dropbox sync support
8. optional: install "hacker keyboard" from appstore, it will make your coding on the phone easier

Wow this is awesome!  I just got a tablet and this works great.  I do have one question, is there a way to preview sketches on the fly while developing on an android tablet?  Then once I'm happy with them go ahead and build them as apps?

Glad to hear that this method is working for you. Regarding your question - AFAIK any "preview" is not possible without building actual apk. But building takes just few seconds on decent device so its not a big problem. On my galaxy S3 it is sometimes quicker to build on device then to build using Processing IDE on PC and send apk via USB. Im hunting for a good, pocket-sized  bluetooth keyboard now ;)
