Lately, many users have mailed me with comments & questions about the GoogleMapper library. I believe this library can be useful for many other users so here it goes again:
Google Mapper is a lightweight library that enables you to download images of any size from Google Maps. For instance, check this large and beautiful image I extracted using GoogleMapper. In addition to the download feature Google Mapper also permits you to transform geocoordinates into euclidian (x and y) coordinates and vice-versa. Get it here (googlemapper.pt.vu).
This library was created for offline usage. That is, you should use the library to download the required map imagery and then reuse the image as background pane. The library allows you to work with the image using euclidian and geo coordinates.
