I'm trying to connect to a MySQL database on a remote server using Florian Jenett's Mysql library. However i feel as though the library is only meant to be used for local SQL databases. It seems as though even when I try to change the server it's still trying to connect to a local database.
SQL.connect(): Could not connect to the database ( jdbc:mysql://22.214.171.124:3306/evanliv_democ ).
java.sql.SQLException: Access denied for user 'democ'@'126.96.36.199' (using password: YES)

Is it possible to connect to a remote database with this library?
It depends on the database. I know that one DB I use on a Web server is configured to answer only local requests (basically, from PHP scripts on the same server). It won't answer requests from outside, for security reasons. Which is annoying as we cannot run some tools on the DB. Looks like you are in the same case. Consult the DB host to see if something can be done.
