My name is Casey Reas. I studied communication design and later began merging this background with new studies in computer science, art, and related disciplines. My work from the last two years is visible at www.groupc.net . I'm currently teaching in Italy at the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea (a small town near Turin). Ben Fry and myself are currently sharing the the admin responsibilities for this board.

My recent work is documented at http://reas.com. I'm currently teaching at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Department of Design | Media Arts (http://dma.ucla.edu). With Ben Fry, I've been developing Processing for the past four years. I'm interested in using Processing for my endeavors as an educator and artist.
Hello, I'm Casey Reas. I'm an artist and educator. I'm a professor at UCLA in the department of Design Media Arts (http://dma.ucla.edu) and with Ben Fry, I co-founded Processing in 2001. My software, prints, and installations (all created with Processing) have has been featured in solo and group exhibitions at museums and galleries in the United States, Europe, and Asia. I spend time working on Processing because I care deeply about the potential of software within the visual arts. My work is documented at http://reas.com

So I hope to be around for quite some time again!

I definitely have functional programming language roots with a hint of O.O.For the record, you probably mean "procedural programming" (I have the same roots!). Functional programming is a quite different beast.

In the next three weeks I'll be teaching the code section at bootcamp, Parsons summer program for upcoming first years.
Hi everyone, I'm Juan Pablo Patino.
I'm currently a student at Parsons, pursuing my MFA in Design + Technology. When I'm not a student, I'm also an artist who is learning how to use tools, like Processing for my own crazy ends. I have a strong traditional arts background, and I still draw everyday. I'm really interested in how to create new visual languages using technology, and also trying to throw some science in the mix as a source of inspiration for these projects.
