In the next links i show two musical compositions made using Tissue-Like P-Systems, one of the natural computing models that we use at University of Seville as an alternative way of doing computations, based in living cells.
That compositions also have a graphical representation made with Processing, what is generated in real time using musical data; the P-System's output.
This is my first project using processing, i hope you forgive my errors, i'll try to improve my works in the future, and i also wish you enjoy the videos. The music and the drawings are generated automatically in a non deterministic way.
I have extended that software and now it's possible to import any midi file. The build of the parser that translates 'midi' to a 'musicString', what is easier to handle, have been very difficult and the results can be improved, but it's amazing, for example, to compare the drawings generated by Chopin vs de drawings generated by Satie.
As soon as i clean the code i'll publish it on the web, surely under a GPL licence.
The Wrong Way To Draw a SoundTrack
The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it.
