Apple remote
Jan 12th, 2009, 5:41pm

I just posted his elsewhere, then realised that this is perhaps a more appropriate area. And having searched, I noticed that there have been a couple of queries, but unfortunately no answers...

Im just starting out with Processing, the first task being making a small sketch that captures a frame from the macs in built camera and saves the file.

Im looking forward to working out the above, but have no idea if it is possible to get Processing to respond to an apple remote signal/click. This is the device I need to use to trigger the capture.

Any pointers would be fantastic.

Thanks.

Maybe not the most elegant solution, but there is a program that can configure the apple remote to convert the signals to keystrokes (I think, haven't used it myself, don't have a remote with my mac pro : ( ). It's called iRed Lite http://www.filewell.com/iRedLite/ . Hope that helps a bit.

there's a quartz composer patch that will listen for apple remote input, I don't know what the state of QC/processing interactivity is, though.
